The 50th Anniversary celebration is only 11 months away. Now is the time to get the remainder of the planning underway. We need to set up committees for the various tasks that need to be done. A meeting will be held after Divine Services on Sunday 4 November. We need volunteers. If you can help, in any way, please make plans to stay for the meeting. (We will use the school for the meeting.) If you have any questions, see either Father or Mike Buchko.

The Chancery Office is pleased to announce a “St. John Chrysostom Celebration” commemorating 1600th anniversary of his repose. The celebration will take place at St. Nicholas Church, Homestead, PA on Sunday 9 December. Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will begin at 9am. A banquet will follow in the parish hall. Donation for the banquet is $15/adult; $5/children 6-12; children under 5 are free. There is limited seating, reservations are first come/first served basis. Reservations after 11 November must be made by phone for seating availability.

Gertrude Hawk Candy order forms for the Christmas season are now available in the hall. Orders are due back no later than 18 November (orders will not be accepted after that date). Hand in order forms and payment to Father or Pani.

THE HOLY RESURRECTION CHRISTMAS CARD PROJECT: With the price of cards and postage increasing, we have come up with a way to make sending your Christmas greetings to the parish family easier and less expensive. For a donation of $20 you can have your household listed in a card that will be sent to home of each parishioner. Your donation will cover the cost of cards, printing and postage. If you have any questions about this project, or to hand in your donation, please see Father or Pani during Coffee Hour. Deadline to submit names will be Sunday 18 November.

The new edition of “The Orthodox Study Bible” (now with complete Old & New Testament) will be coming out in February. You can pre-order (with a discount of 40%!) through the church. Copies are $32.00 each (includes shipping) for hardback and $48 for leather bound [regular price is $49.95/hard cover or $79.95.leather +$8.95 S&H] Order deadline, to receive the discount is 9 December. See Gina Verbrugge to order. Payment is due at time of order. Checks payable to Holy Resurrection.

Make plans now: Fall ‘Clean-Up Day’ will be on Saturday 17 November. Yes, it is the same day as our Bake Day, so if you are not helping at one event, please help with the other. The idea is not to take people from either project, but to get the parish family together to work on different projects at the same time. Come and lend a hand (or two!).

Congratulations to the new national ACRY Officers from our parish: Nick Dzubak-Sr. ACRY Sergeant-at-Arms and Angela Sudick-Jr. ACRY Treasurer. Many Years! Mnohaja L’ita!

Pani Bernadette, Fr. Peter & Alexander wish to say “Thank You” to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, cards and candles on the occasion of the falling asleep in the Lord of Pani’s mother +Bernadine. May God bless all of you for the kindness of your remembrances!
