A Capital Improvements committee is being established to assist the parish Council by obtaining bids from contractors or companies for major improvement projects. The committee members will request bids or estimates, review them, and recommend the best choice to the Council based on their research. In addition, the committee will also recommend a schedule of future major improvements to the Council. Please talk to Rose Plowchin for further information.

Mark your calendar: The Annual Parish Meeting will take place on Sunday 24 Feb (snow date 9 March) 2008. All members of the parish family who are in good sacramental and financial good standing are asked to attend.

Make summer plans now: our deanery week at Camp Nazareth will be 20-26 July 2008. Camp Forms and other information will be distributed as soon as it becomes available.

Our HROC Choir had been invited to participate in the annual observance of the "Week of Prayer for Christian Unity." The prayer service will be held today at 3PM at Holy Cross Church, 4900 Strathmore Ave., Garrett Park. We ask as many of our Choir members as possible to be in attendance. Any new voices are also welcome. For details, please see Sheila. (The theme of this year’s service is “Pray without ceasing.”)

Many thanks to all who helped, in any way, with the March For Life Luncheon this past Tuesday. All the participants enjoyed the food and the fellowship. May God bless you for your labors! Many Years!

At the February 24 annual meeting of the parish we will hear reports from our pastor, Council officers and parish organizations and committees; discuss and approve a budget; and elect officers. If you are an organization president or committee chair, please prepare to report on your activities during 2007 and your plans for the future. If you are interested in running for an office, or in nominating someone, please inform our nominating committee chair, Dan Breno. If you are nominating someone, please confirm that he/she will be attending the meeting and is willing to serve. Attached are the duties for the officers to be elected this year.

Free to a good home: our Christmas Poinsettias need to find homes. If you are interested in taking one, or more, of these still beautiful plants home with you, just take them. Enjoy!

Attention Altar Boys: We will have an Altar Boy meeting following Divine Services on Sunday 17 February following Divine Services. All Altar Boys are to be in attendance! The purpose of this meeting is to be measured for new cassocks and dalmatics. We need to place the order early so that they may be ready for the 50th Anniversary!

Deepest sympathies are extended to the family of +Mary Kesselak, who ‘fell asleep in the Lord’ this past Tuesday, 9 January. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Johnstown, beginning at 1pm. Fr. Peter will be in attendance. May God grant rest to the soul of His newly-departed handmaiden +Mary, and may her memory be Eternal! Vicnaja Pamjat!

Please note that this Friday, 18 January, the Eve of Theophany, is a STRICT FAST DAY, meaning no meat or dairy products are to be eaten. Many families again prepare the meal of the “Holy Night Supper” as the evening meal. Then come to church to take part in the Great Blessing of Water.

Church Wall Calendars are available in the hall on the table at the bottom of the stairs. Please take as many as you need, but not more. If you know someone who needs a calendar, but cannot make it to church, please take one for them.

Welcome to all of our Family, Friends and Guests on this beautiful Feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ! To all of you we say: Christ is Born! Glorify Him! Christos Razdajetsja! Slavite Jeho!

Because of the celebration of the Feast of the Nativity there is no fasting, except for the fast prior to receiving Communion, from today until the Eve of Theophany on 18 January. Enjoy the Feast!

Excuse notes for Christmas Day, Monday 7 January, are available in the hall for our elementary, middle school and high school students. Parents need only fill in the student’s name and sign.

The Tamburitzans are in their 71st season of bringing the music, song and dance of Eastern Europe to those around the world.

Our HROC Choir had been invited to participate in the annual observance of the "Week of Prayer for Christian Unity." The prayer service will be held on Sunday, January 27th, at 3PM at Holy Cross Church, 4900 Strathmore Ave., Garrett Park. We ask as many of our Choir members as possible to be in attendance. Any new voices are also welcome. For details, please see Sheila. (The theme of this year’s service is “Pray without ceasing.”)
