Blessed Mother’s Day

I shall open my mouth and it shall be filled with the Spirit; and I shall pour out a word to the Mother and Queen; and I shall be seen cheerfully celebrating; and rejoicing I shall sing her miracles.

-The Akathist Hymn: Ode One, The Eirmos

These words of praise to the Mother of God speak of the profound joy God has given to all the world through Mothers. Each of our Mothers holds the grace to bring comfort and joy to each of her children and all those who surround her. Let us rejoice this day in this great mystery of Motherhood created by God for the benefit of all. Christ Is Risen!

Mother’s Day

The Jr. ACRY will be preparing a breakfast for everyone in honor of all Mother’s. The breakfast will be held in the hall, after the Divine Liturgy. All are welcome and invited to come and enjoy.

A special Thank you to the Junior ACRY and their parents who helped with the preparation and serving of the Mother’s Day Breakfast. Many Years!

Flood

There will be a special collection taken Today during the Divine Liturgy to help provide aid to the parishes, which sustained damage from the recent flooding in New Jersey. These parishes are: Holy Ghost Church in Manville; and St. John the Baptist Church in Rahway. Your donations will join with those donations from our other diocesan parishes to provide needed aid to these Churches

Family Day

This year’s Camp Nazareth Family Day will be held on Sunday, June 3. The tickets for the Family Day Raffle are also available. Please see Chris Hudack to purchase a ticket. There was also a letter from the Metropolitan attached to last week’s bulletin regarding Family Day that is available in the hall. Please see Father if you have any questions about Family Day.

Parish Web Site

Please notify John Hrapchak or Michael Buchko if you wish not to have pictures of your child appear on the parish web site. This may happen as pictures of events are taken and posted on the parish site. The parish would like to be sensitive to any request from parents concerning this matter.

Social Concerns

The Social Concerns Committee has been sponsoring a food drive to assist The Manna Food Center in aiding hungry children in our area. The collection ends today. Thank you and God Bless for all your kind donations.

Iconastas Project

There are donation forms available in the hall, which have information about the Iconastas Project. The project will extend the current woodwork and add doors. You can use this form to make a donation towards the project or you can use a regular envelope. A total of $5,450.00 has been donated to date.

Sunday School

Next Sunday will be the last day of Classes.

Bake Meeting

There will be a meeting on Sunday, May 20, following the Divine Liturgy to discuss the baking for the fall of this year. We gladly look forward to your suggestions, input, and insight, at the coming meeting. Plus, everyone is invited to attend.

Mark Your Calendar

The annual Parish Appreciation Picnic is coming up on Sunday, June 10, after liturgy on our front lawn. Change into your casual clothes after church so you can relax and participate in the fun afternoon! Lunch is a catered barbeque with delicious picnic foods that are ready to eat. There is no charge, nor anything to bring. The picnic is in appreciation of all the work done by parishioners throughout the year. Plan to be there and enjoy the food, games, musical entertainment, and each other.

Camp Forms

Our camp week at Camp Nazareth is July 15-21. Children who are ages 8-18 are eligible to attend. Registration forms and booklets with information on the camp week are in the hall. Also, the Camp employment forms are available.

Altar Boys Retreat
