Samaritan Woman Sunday: Acts of The Apostles 11:19-26, 29-30 | John 4:5 - 42

Christ Is Risen! Indeed He Is Risen!

Services: May 7 - May 12, Sundays: 10:00 a.m., Daily Liturgy: (as scheduled) 9 a.m., Eve of Feasts: 7 p.m.

There are no services scheduled this week.

Confessions can be heard on Sunday after the Divine Liturgy or prior to the Liturgy by appointment.

First Confession

Our congratulations and blessings are extended to Caroline Boyd, & William Dzubak on making their First Holy Confession on Saturday. May the good God bless each of them with the forgiveness of their sins and with His abundant grace all the days of their lives. Many Years, Christ is Risen!

On behalf of myself and the parish, I would also like to thank Chris Hudack for teaching the First Confession Class: For giving to each the guidance and instruction that will last their entire life time. As the scripture says: “Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Flood

There will be a special collection taken on Sunday, May 13, during the Divine Liturgy to help provide aid to the parishes, which sustained damage from the recent flooding in New Jersey. These parishes are: Holy Ghost Church in Manville; and St. John the Baptist Church in Rahway. Your donations will join with those donations from our other diocesan parishes to provide needed aid to these Churches

Mother’s Day

The Jr. ACRY will be preparing a breakfast for everyone in honor of Mother’s. The breakfast will be held in the parish hall next Sunday, following the Divine Liturgy. All are welcome and invited to come downstairs and enjoy the breakfast.

Family Day

This year’s Camp Nazareth Family Day will be held on Sunday, June 3. The tickets for the Family Day Raffle are also available. Please see Chris Hudack to purchase a ticket. There was also a letter from the Metropolitan attached to last weeks bulletin regarding Family Day. The bulletin with the letter is available in the hall. Please see Father if you have any questions about Family Day.

Social Concerns

The Social Concerns Committee is sponsoring a food drive to assist The Manna Food Center. The purpose of the drive is to collect items, which will provide nutritious and kid-friendly foods for children who are in need. You can help by donating items that are listed on the flyer posted in the hall. There are containers located in the hall near the doors of the hall for these items. Thank you and God Bless.

Iconastas Project

There is a donation form attached to last weeks bulletin available in the hall, which has information about the Iconastas Project. The project will extend the current woodwork and add doors. You can use this form to make a donation towards the project or you can use a regular envelope. A total of $5,450.00 has been donated to date.

Bake Meeting

There will be a meeting on Sunday, May 20, following the Divine Liturgy to discuss the baking for the fall of this year. We gladly look forward to your suggestions, input, and insight, at the coming meeting. Plus, everyone is invited to attend.

Mark Your Calendar

The annual Parish Appreciation Picnic is coming up on Sunday, June 10, after liturgy on our front lawn. Change into your casual clothes after church so you can relax and participate in the fun afternoon! Lunch is a catered barbeque with delicious picnic foods that are ready to eat. There is no charge, nor anything to bring. The picnic is in appreciation of all the work done by parishioners throughout the year. Plan to be there and enjoy the food, games, musical entertainment, and each other.

Parish Web Site

Please notify John Hrapchak or Michael Buchko if you wish not to have pictures of your child appears on the parish web site. This may happen as pictures of events are taken and posted on the parish site. The parish would like to be sensitive to any request from parents concerning this matter.

Camp Forms

Our camp week at Camp Nazareth is July 15-21. Children who are ages 8-18 are eligible to attend. Registration forms and booklets with information on the camp week are in the hall. Also, the Camp employment forms for those who are of college age or older, who are interested in working at the camp this summer, are available.

Altar Boys Retreat

The Diocesan Altar Boy Retreat is scheduled for June 25-27, in Johnstown, Pa. All Altar Boys of the parish are urged to participate in this fun and educational event. The cost of the retreat is underwritten by the Altar Boy Fund. There is also a special 50th anniversary event planned at Camp Nazareth from August 17-19.
