Announcements:
Confessions will be heard on Sunday mornings from 9:15-9:45am and by appointment. All faithful are encouraged to come to the Sacrament every 8 weeks, on average, to help maintain spiritual health. This is especially for those who frequently “with Faith and with Love come forward” to receive the Body and Blood of Christ!
A reminder that we are in the season of the Pre-Nativity (Advent) Fast. All fasting guidelines apply.
Attached to the bulletin today is a donation sheet for Christmas Poinsettias. There are extra slips available in the hall. Please hand them in no later than 30 December. Slips should be handed into Faith Breno. Donations will be listed in the Christmas edition of the bulletin.
The new edition of “The Orthodox Study Bible” (now with complete Old & New Testament) will be coming out in February. You can pre-order (with a discount of 40%!) through the church. Copies are $32.00 each (includes shipping) for hardback and $48 for leather bound [regular price is $49.95/hard cover or $79.95.leather +$8.95 S&H] Order deadline, to receive the discount is 9 December. See Gina Verbrugge to order. Payment is due at time of order. Make checks payable to Holy Resurrection Church. (Bibles ordered now will be available in February.)
The St. Nicholas Day Dinner is scheduled for Sunday 16 December. A sign-up sheet for reservations and the ‘Pot Luck’ is posted on the bulletin board in the parish hall. Please fill it out as soon as possible.
A retreat for Orthodox Women is set for Saturday 8 December at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in
”Lots-O-Luck calendars” for 2008 [The National ACRY fundraiser], will be offered for sale from now until early January.
Cost is $25 each. See Sheila to purchase them.
Church Wall Calendars are available in the hall on the table at the bottom of the stairs. Please take as many as you need, but not more. If you know someone who needs a calendar, but cannot make it to church, please take one for them.
For your Christmas table: extra strong homemade horseradish. Cost is $5.50/16oz. jar + shipping (shipping cost will not be known until order arrives). To order, please see Fr. Peter after Divine Services. Last day to order is 16 December.
Father needs some alterations on some of the sticharions. Is there a person in the parish handy with a sewing machine? If this is you, please give Father a call. Thank you.
Pan-Orthodox Christian Singles will have their next gathering on Saturday 12 January 2008. Directions to the event and party agenda are available on the parish hall info. table.
There are empty candle glasses on the top of the stairs. We need parishioners to take a box or two each week for recycling. Thank you.
